“And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: Be still, be silent. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said to them: Why are you thus frightened? How have you no faith? Then they feared with great fear And they said to each other: Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”.
(Mark 4: 35-41)

As we walk with the LORD, there may be situations in which we feel that His response is taking too long, or that we do not have His help just when we thought we needed it. We have the wrong feeling of having been abandoned.

Today’s scriptures are an example of this. While JESUS and his disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee in a small boat, an unexpected storm caught them and put the group’s lives in danger. JESUS was sleeping and those men, in the midst of panic, woke him up saying: “Master, aren’t you careful that we perish?” Despite the apparent indifference of JESUS at the time of the storm, His final response was to rebuke the force of the wind and the sea and bring calm again. It was a test of faith that his disciples failed to pass.

Sometimes, like those disciples, we can have the feeling that at a given moment the LORD has overlooked our reality. We may feel that your responses have been delayed. However, in that instant we forget that GOD’s care for us goes far beyond what we can conceive, measure or see.

The LORD will never give us burdens that we cannot bear. However, their trials will be the means by which we will strengthen our character and our faith. Despite the fact that reality at a certain moment can strike us with the idea that we are alone, let us always remember that great truth that is given to us through the word: leave all our burdens in the hands of GOD, because He with His unconditional guidance He always watches over us “casting all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5: 7)

Dear LORD, When I feel alone, make me aware to remember that Your care for me is beyond what I can conceive. Strengthen my faith, knowing that the true reality is that under any circumstance, Your guide never leaves me. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
