“LEAN ON THE LORD”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will make straight your paths”. (Proverbs 3: 5-6)
In this passage there are two very important words “recognize” and “ways”. The word roads in Hebrew comes from “derek” which means way, course or mode of action. The word recognize comes from the Hebrew “yada” which is translated as knowing through intimate contact that, applied to the spiritual context, suggests an intimacy with GOD in prayer; thus giving us to understand that we must recognize or have an intimate and direct relationship with GOD every day of our life, which leads us to straighten our path and to fulfill ourselves in all aspects.
Walking in the Christian life requires that our steps be ordered according to what the Word of GOD says. We need CHRIST because he is our wisdom to walk righteously, that is why it is necessary to prepare the heart to seek the Word of GOD and fulfill it not as an obligation but as a loving devotion.
According to John 14:23 the LORD JESUS CHRIST says: “He who loves me will keep my word; and my father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.” Obeying his word is a response to our love for him. Do we love him? If we love Him, then He wants intimacy with us. So we don’t consider it an obligation, but a delight.
The LORD asks us to trust Him. It is leaning on Him, which means putting all our weight on something, resting on someone, trusting that person or thing. He who trusts in his own heart is a fool. When we find ourselves in problematic and difficult situations that bring us insecurity and restlessness, that is when we must trust with all our hearts.
Our GOD is absolutely reliable, his character makes it impossible for him to lie, so let us consult him on all matters of our life. If we abide in Him, He will give us wisdom according to what we need. That is why we leave our family, our finances, our relationships, our disappointments, our decisions and our health in the care of GOD.
Beloved JESUS, thank you for bringing us to a new day. Although the sky is cloudy and the sun does not shine, in you we trust and recognize that we need you every day, we give you every aspect of life, so that you can straighten our path. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
