“CHANGE ENVY FOR LOVE”

“CHANGE ENVY FOR LOVE”

“Love is long-suffering, it is benign; love is not envious, love is not boastful, it is not puffed up.”
(1 Corinthians 13: 4)

A widely used sales strategy today is to generate envy in the consumer in relation to how others see themselves, or how you lack things that others may have. Advertisers increasingly focus their campaigns on this malicious technique, inviting the end user to buy because they want to match the status or appearance of the people around them.

They use more subtle techniques to generate what seeing that their little friend has the newest toy would generate in a child. The first child would start crying and asking his parents to buy him the same toy in order to be calm.

Envy is a particularly negative feeling, not only because of the damage it causes but also because of the ease with which it can invade the heart. By occupying some space in it, we only begin to compare ourselves with others, to see if our reality is better or worse and to feel, if the answer does not satisfy us, unhappy, annoying and even empty. Furthermore, envy prevents us from truly loving and invites us to compete, to pursue only the material and consequently to unhappiness.

Love is the universal spiritual gift that the LORD has given us. He has endowed us with the wonderful ability to love others, deeply, truly and honestly, without ties, without prejudice. If by feelings such as envy, we diminish our capacity to love, it undoubtedly means that we are distancing ourselves from GOD.

If at any time your heart has been invaded by a feeling of envy, remember in that instant, the pure love that the LORD has given you, without suffering, benign, expressed in you as a unique creation. GOD has a plan for your life; daily remember to act on that plan and make positive changes that allow you to understand and travel that path.

When you determine to be the person the LORD has called you to be, you will find your purpose and envy will no longer have room in your heart. You will thus open the doors to the satisfaction and rejoicing in body and spirit that only the LORD can give you.

Dear LORD, you guide me every step of the way and remind me of the wonderful blessings you have brought into my life along the way. Help me not to forget the abundance of those gifts that I have inherited from you, so that envy has no place in my heart. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen
