“HOLD MY HAND”

“HOLD MY HAND”

“Because I the Lord am your God, who holds you by your right hand, and says to you: Do not fear, I will help you.”
(Isaiah 41:13)

Reaching out to greet us is a sign of welcome. Offering our hand to a child when we are walking in the middle of a large number of people or on the sidewalk, very close to the street, is a sign of protection, caressing him when he cries is a sign of compassion and comfort. In moments of pain, anguish or great emotion we can take the hand of a family member or friend to show them that they count on our presence; to tell them I am with you.

On a hospital bed, we squeeze the hand of a sick loved one, to let them know that, in the midst of our hearts afflicted by the situation, we strengthen ourselves to let them know that we suffer with them. Every time we take a hand, we are bearing witness to what GOD has sown in our hearts. And it is that, it is this, the return to the LORD of the love that he shows us every day.

He offers us His unconditional hand, and at the edge of the abyss He supports us. In moments of pain and suffering he consoles us and gives us hope, in the darkest hours of uncertainty and anxiety he tells us: Come, I carry Your burdens, rest in Me; and in moments of paralyzing fear, about the threatening future He tells us that we should not fear because He meets us every step of the way that He already knows beforehand.

And in the end all this configures the wonder of our GOD, a FATHER who offers us His presence in the trial, His grace in the joy and blessings that He provides us and His testimony when our heart changes and turns to give back to others, tending our hand, offering a word of support, providing from what we have, a part, perhaps small, but enough of the love that He, every day, gives us unconditionally.

Dear LORD, I thank You because You extend Your hand to me when You know that I may fall or when I have fallen before the battles of life. Forgive me the times in which, through anguish or fear, I have forgotten that great truth, that Your hand is always ready to lift me up and rescue me. You are my rock and refuge, my perfect helper. Thanks, Dad. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
