“OUR CONVICTION IS OUR DEFENSE”

“OUR CONVICTION IS OUR DEFENSE”

“Do you have faith? Have it for yourself before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.”
(Romans 14:22)

People convinced of their beliefs are sure that the convictions in which they believe are true. Today, many people choose to live mostly out of preference rather than conviction. This is based on the fact that their convictions are not solid insofar as they can change according to the conditions and circumstances.

When the situation changes, so does your loyalty. In other words, many people hesitate on issues that require firm resolution. This unstable focus on the perceptions that motivate our lives stands in stark contrast to the steady and solid mindset of the great men and women of Scripture.

José never wavered in his commitment to divine principles, even having been the victim of virulent hatred and unfair treatment. As a result, he was in the right place at the right time to ensure Israel’s survival. (Genesis 50:20)

Daniel, another righteous man in an idolatrous land, earned the trust of foreign kings by standing firm in his beliefs. (Daniel 1:20).

When their friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego also refused to compromise their beliefs, they influenced a king to recognize the LORD as the only true GOD (3:29).

As these biblical heroes demonstrate, godly convictions can withstand the changing winds of opinion and the persuasive arguments of opponents. If we base ourselves on the Word and trust what GOD has said, we can stand firm in our beliefs. Confidence generates the courage to stand firm in the middle of the test.

Instead of following your own preferences, choose to live by divine conviction. The Bible has a lot to say about the most important aspects of your life. Delve into the great truth that GOD’s principles and promises reveal. Through prayer and study, allow him to root you firmly in solid biblical convictions, and as a result, you will live a life of full confidence in the truths of the LORD.

Dear LORD, root in my heart, solidly and decisively, the great revelations of life that You left us in Your Word, so that I can live a life of full trust in You, guided by Your wonderful teachings. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
