Conviction Power

“If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask for everything you want, and it will be granted to you”.
(John 15: 7)

Today, most people prefer to live more by preferences than by convictions. They decide to believe something based on certain conditions and circumstances. When the situation changes, your loyalty also changes. That is, many people hesitate on matters that require firm determination. Compare this attitude with the mindset of the great men and women of the Bible.

Despite many years of unfair treatment, Joseph never hesitated in his loyalty to divine principles. As a result, he found himself in the right place at the right time to deal with Israel’s survival. Daniel, another righteous man in an idolatrous land, earned the trust of foreign kings to remain firm in their beliefs. When his friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego also refused to sacrifice their convictions, they influenced a king who ended up recognizing Jehovah as the only true GOD.

As these heroes of the Bible demonstrate, strong convictions can withstand the changing winds of opinions and eloquent arguments of opponents. If we hold on to the Word of GOD and trust what the LORD has said, we can stand firm.

Instead of following our own preferences, let’s decide to live according to holy convictions. The Bible has much to say about the most important aspects of life. Through prayer and biblical study, let the LORD firmly root us in biblical convictions.

Beloved LORD, give us the wisdom to always stand firm following the convictions we find in the light of Your Word. We know that our life only built on the rock of Your truth will always be free from all evil. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
