“IN ALL SCRIPTURES”
“Starting from Moses, and following all the prophets, (Jesus) declared to them in all the Scriptures what they said of him.”
(Luke 24:27)
The four gospels, under four different aspects, narrate the life of JESUS on earth. But the whole Bible speaks of HIM; From the first pages of the Old Testament, CHRIST is presented in the form of prophetic images. The text of the Bible was compared to a painting composed of multiple touches associated with each other in their different dimensions and colors. All are useful to represent the final drawing. Each verse is like a touch given to the divine drawing.
But … what does this picture represent? The answer is simple: the person of JESUS CHRIST. Indeed, JESUS is the center, the point of convergence of all the Scriptures. Numerous images (people, objects or animals) refer to Him and show the central place that HE occupies throughout the Word of GOD.
Some examples: Joseph sold by his brothers, and Abel murdered by his brother Cain, announce the rejection and surrender of JESUS to the death of his people. Noah’s ark that saves from the waters of the flood is an image of JESUS CHRIST, who saves men from judgment. The numerous Old Testament sacrifices illustrate various aspects of his sacrifice on the cross. We could continue to give examples, which encourage us to look for CHRIST on every page of the Bible.
“Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures; and he said to them: Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for Christ to suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day; and that repentance and forgiveness of sins “(Luke 24: 45-47)
Beloved LORD, thank you for your Word. Through it we can grant you, love you and understand the sacrifice you made in giving your life for each one of us so that we would be saved. There is no love greater than yours. Thank you CHRIST for everything. In the name of de JESÚS. Amen and Amen.
