“CONTRADICTIONS”
“So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But don’t do what they do, because they don’t practice what they preach.”
(Matthew 23: 3)
The public proclamation of my faith determines the conduct I must have before all who hear or know me. Every disagreement between my actions and my words dishonors the LORD.
I affirm, for example, that GOD is ALL-POWERFUL, that for me it is a FATHER full of love whose care is never lacking … and people see me worried, disturbed and agitated … what a contradiction. I declare that the believer is not of the world, that he is only a foreigner on earth, but I cling to earthly goods, I seek my comforts, and I even get excited about things that I should not … what a contradiction.
I say that I wait for the LORD, that He can return from one moment to another … and I do thousands of projects without taking it into account … what a contradiction. I give thanks for the food that is served on the table and right after I complain about the dish in front of me. I speak of the happiness of believers … and I am sad.
Around me I see people who don’t know JESUS CHRIST … and I don’t show them the way of salvation. To our shame, we could extend the list. It is not enough to recognize these inconsistencies, it is necessary to remedy them. “He who has my commandments, and keeps them, that is he who loves me.”
(John 14:21)
Beloved LORD, help us to awaken with the strength that comes from you, that with prayer and humility, let us live our faith without fainting. May we never be ashamed of the Gospel. In the name of JESÚS. Amen and Amen.
