“GOOD SHEPHERD”
“The Lord is My Shepherd; nothing will be missing”.
(Psalm 23: 1)
Psalm 23 is one of the most beautiful songs of the Word that expresses our faith and confidence in the sense of care that the Lord has for us. A friend, who considered this psalm his favorite passage, performed a beautiful paraphrase of it, which I call, “Take good care of me.” In one of the parts it said:
My soul worried in its healthy Power, because His mercy understands my needs, strengthens and matures me, and guides me to the calm waters where I can rest and resume His true path. Although dark paths turn off my light, your presence will make it shine again and I will fear no evil before Your company.
It is the same image portrayed by JESUS to the people when he approached them said: “I am the good shepherd who gives his life for the sheep.”
Unlike someone hired who runs away from danger, the true shepherd remains with his flock to protect him from danger.
Regardless of what you are facing today, you can say confident: The LORD, my Pastor, takes good care of me!
Beloved LORD, guide us as our loving and eternal shepherd, by Your ways of goodness and justice, away from those things that prevent us from serving you and with an open heart to receive, at all times, the teachings that you grant us in the light of Your Holy Word In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
