“IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM”

“Why am I going to worry? Why am I going to be distressed? In God I will put my hope and still praise Him. He is my Savior and my God!” (Psalm 42: 5)

People who experience tragedies often become emotionally unstable and need to express their pain in some way. They may cry uncontrollably and tears or other feelings of anguish may appear and disappear when least expected. In times like these, I think it is wise to look at King David.

In Psalm 42: 5, we see that when David felt depressed, he fought him. He did not sink or get into the pit of despair. He described how he felt, but made the decision not to live according to his feelings. He praised and trusted GOD.

Most of us go through emotionally difficult times and need to give ourselves time to cry. As we move through the process, GOD wants to comfort us and give us the grace we need to overcome it. Those with faith in GOD will come out of this and even better than when they entered.

If you are suffering right now due to a loss in your life, I want to tell you that a new beginning is in front of you. Trusting and praising GOD as David did. Whatever Satan tries to harm you, GOD can arrange it for your good.

Beloved LORD, even when we are afflicted and depressed, we will choose to praise and trust in You. As Romans 8:28 says, we believe you can arrange everything for our good. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
