“THE POWER OF THE WORD”

“In the tongue there is the power of life and death; those who love it will eat its fruit.”
(Proverbs 18:21)

The mouth should be like the oven on a bakery and not like a pizza restaurant. The first opens little, and the second opens permanently to add new portions according to customer orders. If to open our mouth we thought very well what we are going to say and weighed its consequences, surely we would close it again many times.

The wise Solomon came to write that even the fool when he is quiet is confused with someone very intelligent. GOD wisely endowed us with two ears and one tongue, to hear twice what we talked about. And if the signal is not very clear, it gave us the ability to close our mouths, but not our ears.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue, Solomon added in Proverbs. But the verse should not be taken as something magical and come to be considered the human tongue as a supernatural element with the same ability of GOD to say and create what exists from what does not exist.

Beware … GOD is GOD, His Word is very powerful. With his Word I create the entire universe. He has the ability to call things that are not, as if they were. And with the power of his Word he holds all things, every atom of the cosmos. But He is GOD and His Word is creative power. On the other hand, human beings are mortal beings, limited, in need of divine intervention, or at least of their permission, for every act of our lives. Any ordinary citizen of the street can say what he wants with his mouth, but that does not mean that he will create a new universe, or that he will have the power to cause miracles just by saying so. No, please, let’s put things right.

Beloved LORD, even though our tongue has a lot of influence, to the point of deciding someone’s life or death, we must understand that this power is limited. It is your Word that has a lot of power. Always give us the talk to always listen to it. In the name of JESUS. Amen and Amen.
